CELEBRATING A 46-YEAR TRADITION
THE 2018 HARVEST FESTIVAL ORIGINAL ART & CRAFT SHOW
COMES TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA THIS FALL
Showcasing a colossal collection of handmade creations, the Harvest Festival Original Art & Craft Show, comes to three key southland locations this fall with more than 24,000 original works from hundreds of exhibitors nationwide. As an all you can eat buffet for the senses, the artful celebration boasts live entertainment, strolling performers, a Kidzone, demonstrations, contests, and more.
This marks the 46th season for the Harvest Festival, a treasured event recognized as the largest and most prestigious indoor showcase on the west coast. Multi-talented artists & crafters will showcase their originals of stunning jewelry, clothing, specialty foods, photography, oils, hand-turned wood, ceramics, eclectic art pieces, seasonal decor, ornaments, blown glass, and much more. Patrons know with confidence that each of the works is made by hand and selected only after meeting criteria for excellence. Adding to the memories, many of the artists can personalize items for that special touch.
"We've been working for decades to create the quintessential shopping encounter that engages our patrons on every level," says Nancy Glenn, owner of the Harvest Festival. "It's all about sharing in an immersive experience you can't get anywhere else. Whether you're a DIY devotee or an avid art collector, our presentation brings together emerging artists whose passion sparks excitement and new trends."
Beyond the hundreds of artists and entertainment, each showcase collaborates with local non-profits to fundraise in support of community programs. General admission tickets are $9, while seniors (62+) and military are $7, youths ages 13-17 are $4, and kids 12 and under are free. Tickets are good for the entire weekend and return visits. Entrance for groups of 10 or more is $5 with advance sign up. Information and advance tickets are available at www.harvestfestival.com or call 925/ 392-7300.

"An afternoon of theatre magic in which audience participation and brotherly love pave the way for another happy yuletide season!" raves LA Splash Magazine. It's the timeless Rudie-DeCarlo musical comedy ALL ABOUT SANTA. Where has Santa gone? And how can the inhabitants of the North Pole save the spirit of the holidays from the diabolical machinations of an all-too-commercial world? Complete with perky elves, zany inventors, toy soldiers and porcelain dolls, audiences boo the villain, cheer the heroine, and help to save the day in this delightful holiday event, perfect for the whole family!
" 'Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist.' (Francis P. Church, NY Sun editor, 1897) That's the message of Chris DeCarlo and Evelyn Rudie at Santa Monica Playhouse. They have a way of writing a play that speaks on many levels, even when it's as simple as a Santa story. All About Santa explores the commercialization of Christmas, over-spending, and the value of love and personal involvement. Laughter is nearly continuous and certainly is contagious!" exclaims The Outlook.
Written and helmed by Playhouse Co-Artistic Directors Chris DeCarlo and Evelyn Rudie, All About Santa features Elodie Cammarata (Disneyland, Paris; Absolutely Halloween), Emery Erin (Oh Dad, Poor Dad; Finding Belle), Tiffany Haile (Carmen, Cinderella), Kelly Kristofferson (Little Women: The Musical, Finding Belle), Elena Rust (Annie Oakley and the Princess Cafe, Cinderella), and Sabrina Twyla (The Little Mermaid, A Midsummer Night's Dream). Words and music by E. Rudie, gorgeously detailed Victorian costumes by Ashley Hayes, and an outrageously delightful holiday set by James Cooper. Great for family gatherings, birthdays and holiday parties, too!
Saturdays at 2pm, Sundays at 12:30, December 1 through 16
$12.50 for kids 12 and under; $15.00 for adults.
